Scenic Flights

George Golf Club

Set at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains the Club offers breath taking landscapes of the mountain and surrounding plateau. George Golf Club is by all means a South African must-play and every golfer is encouraged to take the trip out and sip in some of the magnificence on display here. Garden Route Botanical Gardens

The Garden Route Botanical Garden has become a conservation and environmental education hub for the Southern Cape. It showcases a variety of indigenous vegetation with the Outeniqua mountains as backdrop. A tea garden (Getafix), laid out paths, picnic areas, benches, a her-barium, a nursery, a small dam and medicinal mount are all there for guests’ enjoyment. Red Berry Farm

A MUST if you are out exploring the Garden Route. With heaps of activities such as strawberry- picking, pony rides, miniature train rides, bubble ball, go carts and a jungle gym, the whole family will be entertained. Outeniqua Transport Museum

Experience a day down memory lane – visit the Outeniqua Transport Museum where you will see many different old stream trains, cars and planes. The popular Power Van also departs from here for a fun tour up the mountain which includes a half way picnic stop. Definitely an experience not to miss! Powervan

Leaving from the Outeniqua Transport Museum is the Powervan, one of the most popular attractions in town. This is a unique eco experience that takes you up into the Outeniqua Mountains on one of the most scenic railways passes in the country. Experience the forest and four passes, waterfalls and six tunnels, fynbos and proteas, bird and animal life and a panoramic picnic area. Birds of Eden

Birds of Eden’s unique two-hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Monkeyland

Mountain Bikes Routes

The Witfontein Route System start and finishes at the Cape Nature offices northwest of George. All the routes in this system were mapped for mountain biking specifically but can also be used for trail running.
